Manzi Kenny set to Join Rwanda’s National Basketball Team for AFROBasket Qualifiers

Manzi Kenny, an 20-year-old Rwandan basketball player based in Sydney, Australia, has been selected to represent Rwanda in the upcoming AFROBasket 2025 qualifiers. Kenny, born to Rwandan parents residing in Australia, has quickly gained attention for his impressive basketball skills. He currently studies and plays basketball in the United States, where several teams are already showing interest in recruiting him.

Kenny is expected to arrive in Kigali on October 26, 2024, from Australia, in preparation for the national team’s training camp starting on November 1, 2024. The qualifiers for the 2025 African Basketball Championship (AFROBasket) will take place in Senegal from November 22 to 26, 2024.

Upon receiving the call-up, Kenny shared his excitement, stating, “Thankful to Coach Sarr and the Rwanda Basketball Federation for giving me an opportunity to represent my country and home. Can’t wait to get to work and learn from some great players and coaches!”

Manzi Kenny’s basketball journey, from playing in Australia to being scouted in the U.S., demonstrates his exceptional talent and determination.
