Determined to turn the tables, Amavubi coach Torsten Frank Spittler made key changes to the lineup. Muhawenayo Gad stepped in as goalkeeper, and Ngabonziza Pacifique debuted in midfield, joining captain Muhire Kevin and Ruboneka Bosco, who set the tempo. Defender, Byiringiro Gilbert also got the start, alongside forwards, Mugisha Gilbert and Mbonyumwami Taiba.

The adjustments paid off quickly. In the 11th minute, Ruboneka Bosco’s assist found Olivier Dushimimana, whose shot put Rwanda up 1-0 and tied the aggregate score. Just minutes later on 24′, Dushimimana struck again from long range, assisted by Ruboneka, making it 2-0 before halftime.

In the final moments, substitute Tuyisenge Arsene netted the third goal, securing the 3-0 victory.

Rwanda now advances to the next CHAN qualification round, aiming for the tournament hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania in 2025. The impressive comeback has reinvigorated fans, eager for Amavubi’s next challenge.
