The Global Engineering Conference on Sustainable Development, as well as the Executive Committee Meetings of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations, has kicked off in Kigali, Rwanda.
This three-day conference started on Tuesday, October 15 and will continue until October 18.
Under the theme “Engineering Innovations for a Sustainable Future,” the global conference brings together over 1,000 high-level delegates, engineers, researchers, industry experts, and other specialists from all over the world to share best practices, explore emerging technologies, foster and accelerate collaboration, and identify innovative engineering solutions for a more sustainable future.
Speaking at the first day of the summit, Eng. Gentil Kangaho, Chairman and President of the Institution of Engineers Rwanda, said, “As practitioners, we cannot achieve sustainable engineering alone; it requires a collective effort, and a gathering like this is a testament to the commitment to achieve this milestone.”
Minister of Infrastructure, Dr. Jimmy Gasore, said that for Rwanda to be the first country to host this gathering since the establishment of WFEO marks a significant milestone in the journey to become leaders in innovation and technological advancement.
