Melbourne: Football match postponed after chaos

Football match between Oakleigh Cannons and Dandenong Thunder has abandoned after hundreds of fans enters onto the pitch to cause disorders.

The match took place on Friday night in Oakleigh, east of Melbourne.

 

Oakleigh Cannons scored the goal to lead 2-0 and made the rival team’s fans impatient hence descend onto the pitch. 9 News reported.

From the chaos in a suburban football match three people were injured however didn’t need to be hospitalised, and football Victoria said it censured all forms of anti-social behavior and violence, so the investigation has started.

No forms of any formal complaints reported to the Police but the fans with footage from the event have asked to send them. 

Due to the incident, the next match of Oakleigh against Altona will be played behind closed doors.

Oakleigh Cannons seats on 8th place with 5 points in 3 matches.
