Rwanda Men’s Senior National Basketball Team Begins Training for FIBA AfroBasket 2025 Qualifiers

The Rwanda Men’s Senior National Basketball Team has commenced an intensive training camp at Kigali Delight Hotel as they prepare for the FIBA AfroBasket 2025 qualifiers. Set to be hosted in Dakar, Senegal, the qualifiers will take place from November 22 to 24, 2024.

Training sessions are being held twice daily at Petit Stade, with a structured schedule that includes morning and evening practices. The team’s coaching staff is led by Head Coach Dr. Cheikh Sarr, who is working closely with Assistant Coaches Yves Murenzi and Kenny Gasana to enhance the players’ tactical and technical capabilities.

Rwanda has been placed in Group C for the qualifiers, where they will face challenging teams from Senegal, Cameroon, and Gabon. As the competition date approaches, the team is focusing on sharpening its skills, building strong defensive strategies, and enhancing on-court chemistry to secure a place in the prestigious AfroBasket 2025 tournament.
