The Minister of Justice, Dr. Emmanuel Ugirashebuja, is in Glasgow, United Kingdom, where he is attending the 92nd Interpol General Assembly, which started on Monday, November 4.
Minister Ugirashebuja is heading a Rwandan delegation for the four-day General Assembly, which includes the Inspector General of Police IGP Felix Namuhoranye, Rwanda High Commissioner to the UK, Busingye Johnston, and the Secretary-General for Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), Col (rtd) Jeannot K. Ruhunga.
The 92nd Interpol General Assembly is attended by 1,000 delegates from 179 countries.
Discussions will focus on Artificial Intelligence and the future of Policing, global Counter-Terrorism strategy, among other themes.
The General Assembly will also endorse the appointment of a new Secretary-General, Valdecy Urquiza from Brazil and vote on members of the Executive Committee representing different continents.
Rwanda hosted the 84th Interpol General Assembly in November 2015.
