Rayon Sports forward Iradukunda Elie, popularly known as Tatou, has responded to growing speculation about his relationship with head coach Haringingo Francis Christian, insisting that his commitment to the club remains strong despite being left out of the squad for a CAF Confederation Cup fixture.

The speculation intensified after Tatou was absent from Rayon Sports’ squad for their match against Mozambique’s Black Bulls FC on Saturday, raising questions among supporters about a possible disagreement between the player and the technical bench.

However, Tatou moved to address the rumours in a statement shared on Instagram on Monday, October 19, saying he respects the coach’s decisions and remains focused on helping the team succeed.

“Regarding the CAF Confederation Cup match against Black Bulls FC, I respect the coach’s decisions and tactical approach,” he said.

The forward added that missing a match would not change his dedication to the club or his determination to contribute whenever given an opportunity.

“Not being included in the matchday squad does not change my commitment, my goals, or my determination to contribute to the success of this great club,” Tatou stated.

He also dismissed reports suggesting tension between him and Haringingo, emphasising that his priorities remain hard work, discipline, respect for the coaching staff and support for his teammates.

Meanwhile, reports have linked Tatou with a possible move to another Rwandan club, with APR FC mentioned as a potential destination. However, the transfer speculation remains unconfirmed.

Other reports have suggested that his omission could be connected to an alleged disagreement during a friendly match in Nzove, as well as claims surrounding the team's recovery practices. These allegations have not been independently verified.

Tatou's statement comes as Rayon Sports prepare for the return leg against Black Bulls FC in the CAF Confederation Cup, where the Rwandan side will be looking to improve its performance and strengthen its chances of progressing in the competition.

The forward also thanked Rayon Sports supporters for their continued backing, promising to keep working hard to help the club achieve its objectives.

While Tatou has publicly reaffirmed his commitment, attention will now turn to whether he returns to the squad and features in Rayon Sports’ upcoming matches.
