The family travelling from Queensland to see Taylor Swift in concert has left broken after one daughter died and her sister remains in coma in the car crash on Dunedoo Rd, Ballimore on Thursday.
After the car crash, Mieka Pokarier, 16, died at the scene while her sister Freya Pokarier, 10, remains in coma at Sydney’s Westmead Hospital.
The family in SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) was driving to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour to Melbourne. Mieka who died was sitting in the front, her sister in coma was in the back seat while their mum was driving.
Their car crashed with semi-trailer on their way which caused Mieka’s death, and Freya put in coma, their mother was treated by paramedics before being taken to Dubbo Hospital with minor injuries while the driver of the semi-trailer was also taken to Dubbo Hospital in stable condition.
Peter Pokarier who is Mieka and Freya’s father shared his grief on social media.
“That’s my baby that died.” he said.
After this heartbreaking story, the girls godmother Karleigh Fox has created the GoFundMe page.
Ms Fox said the girls and their mother had been so excited to see Taylor Swift, having secured tickets to both the Melbourne and Sydney shows.
Many people have shared their condolences to the family and the fundraiser has since raised more than $10,000 at the time of publication.
