President Paul Kagame met with Russell Dlamini, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Eswatini on Wednesday, October 9.
Dlamini is in Rwanda, as he attends the 2nd edition of the AfCFTA Business Forum, Biashara Afrika 2024.
“They discussed the increased productive bilateral partnership following the State Visit by King of Eswatini in August of this year,” the office of the president posted on X.
Rwanda and Eswatini are enjoying fruitful bilateral relations.
On August 13, 2024, President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame received His Majesty King Mswati III of the Kingdom of Eswatini and Inkhosikati Make LaMashwama at Urugwiro Village.
During that time, President Paul Kagame and King Mswati III of the Kingdom of Eswatini presided over the signing of memoranda of understanding.
The signed four agreements included agreements in areas of defense and security operations, police cooperation, correctional services, and visa exemption on diplomatic and service passports, as both countries moved to strengthen bilateral ties.
King Mswati III extended an invitation to Kagame to visit his kingdom.
Both King Mswati III and Inkhosikati Make LaMashwama were among the dignitaries who attended President Kagame’s swearing-in ceremony on Sunday, August 11.
In 2022, Rwanda and Eswatini signed a general cooperation agreement that established a joint permanent commission.
