President Paul Kagame thanked friendly leaders around the world for their congratulatory messages following his re-election with 99.18% of the vote as President of the Republic of Rwanda for the next five years.

On Sunday, July 14th and July 15th, Rwandans of voting age conducted the presidential and parliamentary elections.
On July 22nd, the NEC released the final results of both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
Figures from the National Electoral Commission show that incumbent President Paul Kagame, the presidential candidate of FPR-INKOTANYI, won the election after securing 99.18% of the vote in the presidential election.
Frank Habineza, the presidential candidate of the Green Party, came second in the July 14-15 polls with 0.50% of the vote.
Independent candidate Philippe Mpayimana received just 0.32% of the vote.
Many leaders across the world congratulated President Paul Kagame for his re-election.
Via his social media, president Paul Kagame thanked them for their messages of congratulations and support.
“My sincere gratitude for the messages of congratulations and support from the friendly leaders of countries around the world, notably Barbados, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Cuba, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Guinea-Bisseau, Guinea, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Liberia, Madagascar, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Oman, Qatar, Senegal, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan, Switzeland, Tanzania, Turkiye, Uganda, Venezuela, Zambia…” President Paul stated on X.
He highlights the continued importance of strong international ties.
“We look forward to continuing the mutually beneficial ties for and between our people.”
According to Article 102 of the constitution, before assuming office, the President of the Republic publicly takes an oath before the President of the Supreme Court.
The President of the Republic takes the oath of office within 30 days following his election.
