On Thursday, 25 July, at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, France, President Paul Kagame joined other heads of state and government, leaders of international organizations, athletes, representatives of the sports movement, and other stakeholders for the Sports for Sustainable Development Summit.
According to a tweet from Urugwiro Village, the summit was hosted by President Emmanuel Macron and Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee, with support from the Agence Française de Développement headed by Rémy Rioux.
“The discussions focused on the significant contributions of sports to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals,” a tweet from the office of the president revealed.
On Friday, President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame are set to join President Macron for a reception and the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
