Ambassador Emmanuel Hategeka pledged to work together to renew the historically good relations between Rwanda and South Africa as he presented his letter of credence to President Cyril Ramaphosa as Rwanda’s High Commissioner to South Africa.
This was stated on X by Rwanda’s Embassy in South Africa. On 9th April 2024, Amb. Emmanuel Hategeka had the honor and privilege to present to His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa, letters of credence as Rwanda’s High Commissioner to South Africa alongside letters of recall of his predecessor.
The embassy added that the new High Commissioner conveyed President Kagame’s appreciation for the solidarity expressed through President Cyril Ramaphosa’s participation in Kwibuka30 on 7th April 2024.
He pledged to work together to renew the historically good relations between the two countries for the mutual benefit of the two peoples.
These days, the relationship between Rwanda and South Africa is not well, but both heads of state say that they are in talks to rekindle it.
President Paul Kagame, during a press conference on April 8, revealed that he was satisfied with the talks he had with Cyril Ramaphosa, aimed at improving the relations between the two countries.
President Ramaphosa, when he concluded his working visit in Rwanda, said that the conversation between him and President Kagame was aimed at improving relations between the countries and he promised that in the future, the relationship between the two countries would be good again.
