Ambassador Harerimana Fatou presented her credentials to the President of Seychelles, Wavel Ramkalawan, with the authorization to represent Rwanda in Seychelles as Ambassador.

The ceremony took place on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the State House of Seychelles.

Discussion between President Ramkalawan and Ambassador Harerimana touched on the ongoing memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Seychelles and Rwanda during the state visit of Rwanda’s President, Paul Kagame, to Seychelles in June 2023.

The agreements covered various sectors including health, agriculture, tourism, investment, defense, and security, as well as a visa waiver between the two countries.

Rwanda and Seychelles usually cooperate through Parliaments and embassies.

In June 2023, President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeanette Kagame visited Seychelles where an agreement was signed on cooperation between the two countries in various sectors.

At that time, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism of Seychelles, Radegonde Sylvestre, and Rwanda’s Minister of Commerce, Prof Ngabitsinze Jean Chrysostome, signed an agreement related to cooperation in military and security, law enforcement, agriculture, health, and tourism.

The two countries also agreed to remove visa requirements for citizens of both sides, allowing Rwandans to travel to Seychelles without needing a visa.
