A man with fireman has attempted robbery at Port Melbourne’s Rex hotel last Wednesday about 2.15am.
The armed man approached a staff member and allegedly threatened a member demanding cash.
Staff were unable to access any money, then the man became agitated and left.
It is believed the man was wearing some kind of dark material draped around him like a cape and a pair of dark-coloured underpants on his head.
Also the man was wearing a black T-shirt, light coloured pants and white runners.
No person was physically injured during the incident.
Police patrolled the Port Melbourne area but could not find him.
The investigation is ongoing and Police are calling for anyone who saw the man, or who may have dashcam or further CCTV footage.
