Barbados PM Mia Mottley Congratulates President Kagame on Re-Election

Barbados Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley congratulated President Paul Kagame following his re-election on Monday, with 99.18% of the votes, according to the provisional results.

From Sunday, 14th July to the afternoon of 15th July, Rwandans of voting age conducted the presidential and parliamentary elections.

The provisional results of the presidential elections were released by the Rwanda Electoral Commission on Thursday, 18 July.

The figures from the National Electoral Commission show that Paul Kagame, the presidential candidate of FPR-INKOTANYI, received 99.18% of the vote in the presidential election.

Frank Habineza, the presidential candidate of the Green Party, came second in the July 14-15 polls with 0.50% of the vote.

Independent candidate Philippe Mpayimana picked up just 0.32% of the vote.

Many leaders across the globe continue to express their congratulations messages to President Paul Kagame.

On 18 July, Barbados PM Mia Mottley extended warm congratulations to President Kagame.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Barbados, I extend warm congratulations to Paul Kagame on his re-election as President of the Republic of Rwanda,” she stated.

She added, “The margin of your victory attests to the confidence which the electorate has in you and in your leadership.”

Other presidents who congratulated President Kagame are President Phillip Nyusi of Mozambique, Madagascar President Andry Rajoelina, William Ruto of Kenya, Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania, President Museveni of Uganda, King Mohammed VI of Morocco, and others.

President Paul Kagame was re-elected in July’s elections by securing 99.18% of the vote according to the provisional results.
