On Saturday, three-month-old baby was found with what police say appeared to be a stab wound to the abdomen, and the 26-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder.
Police was called to the address in Ripley, South-West of Brisbane following reports of an alleged wounding.
“On arrival, officers located a three-month-old infant with what appeared to be a stab wound to the abdomen.” Police said in a statement.
The infant was given first aid and was taken to hospital in a critical condition while the woman is being held in custody and is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on February 12.
Police have declared a crime scene at the house and are continuing to investigate.
