Czech President Gen. Petr Pavel is expected in Kigali, Rwanda, on Friday, April 5, 2024.
The main purpose of this trip is to participate in the ceremony commemorating the 30th anniversary of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
The ceremony will take place at BK Arena on Sunday, April 7, and will be attended by various local and foreign dignitaries. President Paul Kagame is expected to deliver remarks at the event.
General Petr Pavel will also meet his Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame, as well as Czechs working in different fields in this Central African country, Prague Castle announced on Thursday.
Among the distinguished guests who will attend are Minister President Malu Dryer of Rhineland-Palatinate, Former President of South Africa Thabo Mbeki, and former US President Bill Clinton.
