Former Liberian President George Weah accepted the invitation to attend VCWC in Kigali

Former Liberian President George Weah has accepted the invitation to attend the Veteran Clubs World Championship (VCWC) in Kigali.

George Manneh Oppong Weah, a Liberian politician who served as the 25th president of Liberia and a former professional football player, expressed his acceptance on March 19th. 

” Had a fruitful meeting with Mr. Siewe Fred Founder and Chairperson of Veteran Clubs World Championship 2024, accepted his invitation to participate in this unique event to be held in Kigali from 1st to 4th of September 2024″. George Weah wrote on X.

In addition to George Weah, other famous participants in the tournament will include Jimmy Gatete from Rwanda, Cameroon legend Patrick Mbaoma, Miyamito from Japan, Maicon Douglas, Robert Pires, Ronaldinho, and Michael Owen from England. 

The VCWC is a global platform and protected brand that aims to connect, collaborate, and contribute to sustainable development for renowned sports veterans. The event will bring together 150 football legends from all regions of the world for a 10-day Legends Tournament and five economic forums discussing peace, education, health, business, and tourism.

The next edition of VCWC will take place from September 1st to 10th, 2024, in Kigali, Rwanda.
