President Evariste Ndayishimiye of Burundi, President Félix Tshisekedi of DRC, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Benjamin Netanyahu, and others were among the world leaders offering their early congratulations to Donald Trump in light of his presumed election win as the 47th President of the United States of America.
Although the race had not officially been called when many leaders posted statements on social media, Trump was declared the winner early Wednesday morning.
Writing on social media, President Ndayishimiye of Burundi shared a congratulatory message to Trump, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump on your historic election victory and convey my wishes for success as you lead America forward with purpose and conviction. I look forward to further strengthening the Burundi-USA cooperation,” Ndayishimiye wrote.
The Office of the President of Congo said “The Head of State said he was ready to collaborate with the newly elected American President and to deepen the strategic partnership between the DRC and the USA, which already maintain good friendly and cooperative relations.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated Trump on “history’s greatest comeback!”
“Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a strong recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America. This is a huge victory,” he stated.
French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated Mr. Trump on social media, “Congratulations, President Donald Trump,” Macron wrote.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said, “I congratulate Donald Trump on his election as US President. For a long time, Germany and the US have been working together successfully promoting prosperity and freedom on both sides of the Atlantic. We will continue to do so for the well-being of our citizens.” Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni added, “Italy and the United States are sister nations, linked by an unshakeable alliance, common values, and a historic friendship. It is a strategic bond, which I am sure we will now strengthen even more.”
