The member of the Legislative Council of South Australia MP Frank Pangallo has revealed he has stage 4 prostate cancer on Monday.

MP Pangallo, 69, said he has undergone radiation treatment since he received diagnosis in December last year.

Even though he was suffered but he chose to keep working to fulfill his obligations in the Parliament by representing the best interests of South Australians.

In a statement, he said that he received good news last week after test results although there is still a way to go before I can get the all-clear from my doctors.

“However, the good news is that prostate cancer is one of the most treatable cancers and, if detected and treated early, can lead to a cure,” He said.

Prostate cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in Australian men.

Last year, more than 25,000 Australian men were diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Hence, MP Pangallo shared his diagnosis publicly to raise awareness about prostate cancer and he encouraged Australian men to watch doctors for tests no matter their age.

MP Pangallo also promised that “I am not going anywhere soon”.

“Much to their relief, my colleagues in the Upper House will still have to put up with my ‘rhetorical flourish’ with my ‘brief’ questions and speeches for a while yet,” he said.

MP Pangallo reveals cancer diagnosis following Liberal MLC Michelle Lensink who revealed that she had breast cancer last week.

She said she was undergoing treatment but would continue in her roles as a parliamentarian and shadow minister.
