President Kagame has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where he joins Heads of State and Government from across the African Continent for the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union.
The African Union summit 2024 will look into how the continent can maintain momentum in addressing issues of peace and security, regional integration, and development. The annual convening of African leaders will interrogate the progress made in addressing the worrying security situation and conflicts in a few of its member states and proffer recommendations on innovative ways to sustainably address the crises in a bid to return to peace.
The session will further deliberate on the roadmap for the theme of the year 2024 on Education, preparations for the elections of the Members of the African Union Commission, the institutional and financial reforms of the Union, agriculture and climate change, health advancements, as well as the empowerment of women and youth, among other key issues.
