President Kagame arrived in Bali on September 1 to participate in the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Summit, a high-profile event aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Africa and Indonesia.

On that same day, President Kagame attended a State Banquet hosted by President Joko Widodo in honor of visiting Heads of State and Government attending the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum.

The summit brings together leaders from across the African continent and Indonesian officials, providing a significant platform for discussing mutual cooperation, trade, and investment opportunities.

The Indonesia-Africa Summit is an initiative that underscores the growing importance of South-South cooperation. This year’s event builds on the successes of the first summit, held in 2018, where numerous agreements and partnerships were established, benefiting both regions.

The 2nd summit in Bali seeks to deepen these ties and explore new avenues for collaboration, particularly in sectors such as infrastructure development, energy, agriculture, and digital transformation.

President Kagame’s presence at the summit highlights Rwanda’s commitment to playing a leading role in shaping Africa’s future on the global stage. As the summit progresses, the outcomes are expected to pave the way for more robust and dynamic partnerships, driving economic growth and development in both Africa and Indonesia.
