President Kagame Meets Chancellor of UGHE to Strengthen Partnership in Medical Care and Research

On Friday, 9 August, at Urugwiro Village, President Paul Kagame received Dr. Jim Kim, Chancellor of the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE), and his delegation for a discussion on strategies to deepen cooperation on medical care and research. A tweet from Urugwiro Village revealed this information.

UGHE, founded in 2015 as a not-for-profit institution, is dedicated to transforming healthcare delivery worldwide. The university has established partnerships with prestigious organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Harvard Medical School, and the Cummings Foundation.

The institution offers three primary educational pathways, including a unique and innovative dual-degree program in medicine (MBBS/MGHD), a master’s degree program in global health delivery (MGHD) with tracks in health management, and gender, sexual and reproductive health.

Additionally, UGHE provides a series of executive education courses designed to equip healthcare professionals with the necessary skills to implement value-based programs.

On Sunday, August 4, the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) celebrated the graduation of its ninth Master of Science in Global Health Delivery (MGHD) cohort. The 2024 class comprises 54 students from 16 countries worldwide, including Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Jamaica, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Nepal, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, the United States of America, and Zambia.
