President Paul Kagame who is in Davos, Switzerland, where he attended the World Economic Forum meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky. They discussed the ongoing situation in Ukraine and efforts to resolve the conflict. President Kagame also met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to discuss ongoing cooperation in ensuring sustainable peace in the region.

On X, President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote that he informed President Kagame about the peace formula and the importance of African states’ voices in putting peace into action.

“First-ever meeting with Rwandan President Paul Kagame. I informed President Kagame about the Peace Formula. The voice of African states is important in putting it into action,” Zelensky wrote on X.

President Zelensky’s post on X continued, stating that Ukraine has established an embassy in Rwanda and is interested in strengthening ties with the region and exporting agricultural goods.

President Kagame and President Zelensky also discussed efforts to garner support for Ukraine among African nations.

On X, Rwanda Presidency’s Village Urugwiro wrote that on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, President Kagame met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to discuss ongoing cooperation in ensuring sustainable peace in the region by addressing the root causes of the conflict. The meeting followed a visit by Avril Haines, Director of National Intelligence, in November last year.
