On Tuesday, May 28th, President Paul Kagame received a delegation of nine members of the US Congress at Urugwiro Village.
The delegation was led by Representative Bruce Westerman of Arkansas, who also serves as the Chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources.
The Office of the President stated that the discussions focused on Rwanda’s transformation over the last three decades, potential areas of partnership, as well as continental and global issues of importance.
Rwanda and the United States established diplomatic relations in 1962. Today, the partnership between the two nations focuses on trade, investment, peace and security, education, and community.
