President Kagame Receives UK Minister of State for Africa

On Friday, September 6, President Paul Kagame received Lord Ray Collins of Highbury, UK Minister of State for Africa at Urugwiro Village.

“Their discussion focused on building on the existing bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and the UK in key areas of trade and investment, environment, education and more,” the office of the President posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Lord Ray Collins was in Rwanda for a three-day visit. During his stay, apart from being received by President Kagame, he spoke at the Africa Food Systems Forum (AGRF) 2024 and visited Trinity Metals mine.

“We look forward to his next visit and growing our [UK] partnership with Rwanda,” the UK Embassy in Rwanda posted on X.

Rwanda and the United Kingdom continue to maintain their cooperation.

On July 27, 2024, in Paris, President Paul Kagame met with Prime Minister Keir Starmer of the United Kingdom on the sidelines of the Olympics.

During that time, they discussed the shared commitment to fruitful bilateral cooperation, including strengthening partnerships in trade, sports, technology, and protecting the environment.
