Rwanda International Trade Fair opens officially at Gikondo Expo Ground

On Tuesday, July 30, Minister of Trade and Industry, Prof. Jean Chrysostome Ngabitsinze, alongside Jeanne Francoise Mubiligi, chairperson of the Rwanda Private Sector Federation, officially opened the 27th Rwanda International Trade Fair (RITF 2024) at Gikondo Expo Ground.

Normally, this trading exhibition began on July 25 and will run for the next 21 days until August 15, 2024.

This time, the biggest trading exhibition is bringing together more than 400 exhibitors from 17 countries.

According to the PSF, the Expo gates open for both visitors and exhibitors from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm on weekdays and until midnight on weekends.

Entrance fees are 500 Rwf for one child and 1000 Rwf for an adult.

The Expo is expected to attract between 10,000 to 15,000 visitors on weekdays and 25,000 to 45,000 during the weekends.

This edition includes more than 400 exhibitors from 17 countries, including India, Singapore, China, South Korea, Syria, Pakistan, and Iran. On the African continent, countries like Benin, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, Mozambique, Togo, Egypt, and Nigeria.

The last exhibition, held for the 26th time, was attended by a total of 403 exhibitors from 21 countries, including 291 Rwandan exhibitors. In total, more than 300 thousand people participated in buying various products and services.

The Rwanda International Trade Fair (RITF) is one of Rwanda’s major annual events organized by the Private Sector Federation (PSF) in conjunction with the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Such events started far back in 1978, and initially, they were organized by the Ministry of Commerce itself and opened to international participation mainly from neighboring countries in 1998.
