Rwanda will host the general assembly of the Commonwealth Association of Architects from the 21st to the 23rd of August 2024.
During this key meeting, professionals will discuss topics such as innovations, sustainable urbanization, and scalability.
The housing authorities in Rwanda state that this conference is useful for discussing how to develop sustainable cities and engage in environmental conservation activities.
Ndibwami Alex, the Head of the Organizing Committee, told The New Times that one of the objectives is to come together, share knowledge, innovate, and increase the capacity for building strong cities and protecting the environment.
He added that the Rwanda Institute of Architects and its partners see the upcoming general assembly as a great opportunity to reflect on and showcase efforts in advancing sustainable urbanization, in response to a call made by the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) two years ago.
The symposium, expected to take place in Kigali, will review the results of various research studies and connect students studying memory at the university.
It will also examine the establishment of policies and other relevant topics.
The conference will also feature a construction project where students can showcase their portfolio work and enhance their research skills.
