Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr Vincent Biruta, told Rwandans attending the Rwanda Day 2024 meeting that no one should be worried about Rwanda’s security because it is well protected.
On Saturday, February 3rd in Washington DC, United States of America, Rwandans living abroad, those living inside the country, and their friends met for Rwanda Day, which was last held in 2019.
The meeting started in the afternoon hours in Washington DC but was in the night hours in Kigali.
Among the topics discussed was Rwanda’s 30-year journey and how it has presented itself on the international stage during that time.
The panelists were Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Vincent Biruta; Amb. Jendayi Frazer, who heads the Hoover Institution at Stanford University; and Minister of Youth and Arts, Dr Abdallah Utumatwishima.
Minister Dr Vincent told the 6000 people in the room that they shouldn’t worry about the security of Rwanda because Rwanda is well protected and committed to peace. As it believes that a political solution is the best way to solve the region’s political problems.
“Appropriate defensive measures are in place to protect our territory, and no one should be worried about the security of Rwanda,” said Minister Vincent Biruta.
He added that Rwanda is committed to peace and believes that a political solution is the best way to solve the region’s political problems.
Minister Dr Vincent Biruta said that prosperity cannot be achieved without peace, and that is why Rwanda has remained engaged in multilateral peacekeeping missions throughout Africa under the United Nations banner, with almost 6000 peacekeepers.
“Prosperity cannot exist without peace. And this is why Rwanda has remained engaged in multilateral peacekeeping missions throughout Africa under the United Nations banner. With almost 6000 peacekeepers, Rwanda is the fourth largest contributor of peacekeepers in the world,” said Minister Biruta.
Rwanda Day 2024 is being held in Washington and is one of the most attended meetings. With the help of two meeting rooms, almost 6000 people have gathered.
