Three Rwandan postgraduate students have each been awarded the Academic Excellence Award after emerging among the top performers at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
Evariste Vuguziga, Bienvenu Kaboba, and Simeon Rukundo, each aged 27, completed, with flying colors, the Master of Science in Smart Manufacturing Program at NTU’s School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
Rwandan Minister of Education, Gaspard Twagirayezu, congratulated them for their outstanding achievement.
“We’re proud of all the 10 graduates and look forward to further strengthening our partnership with the university to empower more Rwandan students,” Minister Twagirayezu stated.
The trio is part of a group of 10 Rwandans who pursued postgraduate studies at Nanyang Technological University in various programs, including in Artificial Intelligence and Smart Manufacturing, as part of a partnership agreement signed between the Government of Rwanda and the university.
The partnership agreement was signed on September 30, 2022, with the Ministry of Education represented by the Minister of State in charge of ICT and TVET and Nanyang Technological University, and presided over by President Paul Kagame during his visit to Singapore.
The partnership allowed Rwandan students to pursue their studies at Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University since last year.
The development succeeds several initiatives that have previously been reached between Rwanda’s Ministry of Education and Nanyang Technological University, mainly on academic exchange.
Nanyang Technological University is ranked among the 35 best global universities.
Rwanda and Singapore have a strong partnership in the areas of investment, trade, education, rule of law, technology, and air transport service, among others.
