Umuganura Day is a public holiday celebrated in Rwanda on the first Friday of August each year. Also known as National Harvest Day or Thanksgiving Day, it marks the beginning of the annual harvest.

The day is a celebration of Rwandan culture and heritage, with traditional dances, music, and food on display. Families and communities come together to give thanks for the harvest and to pray for a bountiful year ahead.

The day is also an opportunity to promote Rwandan culture and raise awareness of the importance of agriculture to the country’s economy.
