Rwandans in Morocco, Ghana celebrate Kwibohora30

Rwandans living in Morocco and Ghana celebrated the 30th anniversary of Rwanda’s liberation, #Kwibohora30. During the celebration ceremony, they were joined by friends, government officials, and the diplomatic corps.

In Ghana, over 300 people, including Rwandan officials from the government of Ghana, the Diplomatic Corps, and friends of Rwanda, gathered to celebrate Rwanda’s Liberation Day.

In her remarks, Ambassador of Rwanda to Ghana, Rosemary Mbabazi, highlighted the non-discriminatory empowerment of Rwandans over the past 30 years.

“The unequivocal message that Rwandans sent to the world during these past 30 years has been that with a clear vision and committed leadership, no goal is too high to achieve,” she said.

Deputy Minister of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Vicent Ekow Assafuah, who represented the Ghana Government, commended Rwanda’s progress, praising President Paul Kagame for his vision and leadership in overseeing the political and socioeconomic transformation.

In Morocco, Rabat, over 200 people, including Moroccan officials, diplomats, civil societies, partners, and friends of Rwanda, attended the celebration ceremony of Rwanda’s liberation.

In her remarks, Ambassador of Rwanda to Morocco, Shakilla Umutoni, stressed the importance of the Liberation Day for Rwanda as it marks the end of the genocide perpetrated against Tutsi in 1994, stopped by the Rwandan Patriotic Army under the leadership of His Excellency Paul Kagame.

She also explained that the re-election of President Kagame with overwhelming support reflects the trust and recognition of the Rwandan people for leading the country towards exemplary development, 30 years after the genocide.

Every July 4, Rwandans and friends of Rwanda, wherever they are, celebrate Liberation Day, the day when the Liberation Struggle ended, and the beginning of Rwanda’s rebirth.

Members of the Rwandan diaspora organize events to celebrate Liberation Day in their respective countries of residence.
