An Israeli airstrike on a water distribution center in Gaza has killed at least 10 people and left tens of thousands without access to clean water, as the humanitarian crisis deepens across the besieged territory. According to Gaza City’s municipal authorities, the security situation has made it impossible to reach critical water infrastructure, including main pipelines and wells. As a result, the majority of residents are now cut off from water. “We wait at the water plant for at least four hours because production is so slow. Whatever we get, we hand out at displacement camps. As you know, they’re overwhelmed,” said local aid worker Ahmed Abed. “People line up for hours from dawn, but many leave empty-handed.” Al Jazeera’s correspondent Ibrahim al-Khalili, reporting from Gaza City, warned that even these limited efforts could soon cease altogether due to Israel’s ongoing fuel blockade. “Israel has blocked almost all fuel deliveries from entering Gaza since March 2,” al-Khalili reported. “The shortage is threatening to halt operations at desalination plants, sewage treatment facilities, and water delivery trucks.” Meanwhile, Israeli military operations continue across the enclave. According to medical sources, at least 59 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since dawn, with 28 of those deaths reported in Gaza City alone. The situation on the ground remains dire, with escalating airstrikes, infrastructure collapse, and a growing public health emergency compounding the suffering of Gaza’s population.
