President Paul Kagame on December 3rd 2024, appointed Domitilla Mukantaganzwa as new Chief Justice of Rwanda, replacing Dr. Faustin Ntezilyayo. Mukantaganzwa had been serving as the Chairperson of Rwanda Law Reform Commission. Alphonse Hitiyaremye is also appointed the new Deputy Chief Justice, succeeding Mukamulisa. Hitiyaremye has been a judge of the Supreme Court. Hitiyaremye is a former Deputy Prosecutor General. The newly appointed Cheif Justice Domitilla Mukantaganzwa.
