Rwandan beauty queen and social media personality Vanessa Uwase is preparing to share her personal journey through a new book, Graceful Beginnings, exploring the transition from public fame to motherhood and the challenges she faced after childbirth. Vanessa Uwase, who was crowned first runner-up at Miss Rwanda 2015, has announced the release of her book, which offers an intimate look at her life beyond the public spotlight. In a message shared on Instagram, Vanessa reflected on the emotional challenges that can remain hidden behind fame and public admiration, particularly when the attention and applause begin to fade. “No one prepares you for the loneliness that follows when the applause of those celebrating you grows quiet,” she wrote. The book explores her journey from being a celebrated public figure and social media personality to becoming a wife and mother. It also highlights the difficulties she experienced after childbirth and how she and her husband navigated that period together. Speaking to IGIHE, Vanessa explained that the book is not intended to provide professional medical advice but rather to share the personal experiences and practical lessons that helped her and her family. “I am not a doctor to give you professional advice. In my book, I focus on what helped me, my husband and our child,” she said. She emphasized that the challenges associated with the period following childbirth can affect both women and men, making the book relevant to parents and those preparing to welcome children. Vanessa said she decided to write the book after choosing to stop pretending that everything was fine and instead openly acknowledge her struggles. “I chose to stop pretending that I had no problems,” she said. She spent a year putting her emotions, tears and healing journey into writing, hoping to encourage parents who feel unseen, judged or overwhelmed by the responsibilities of raising children. Through Graceful Beginnings, Vanessa aims to remind readers that the transition into parenthood can involve emotional difficulties and that sharing personal experiences can help others feel less alone. She has set a target of selling 5,000 copies before the book’s official launch, marking a new chapter in her efforts to connect with audiences beyond her public image.
