Sydney: House party ends in stabbing attack

Two men were hospitalised in an alleged stabbing attack in a house party on Sydney’s affluent Upper North Shore.

Emergency services were called to North Turramurra about 2am on Sunday after an alleged brawl broke out at the multimillion-dollar Stephanie Place home. 9News reported.

Two men hospitalised include; the party’s host, 31-year-old Matthew Harper knifed in the leg and 28-year-old man believed to be guest who suffered several stab wounds to the chest and stomach

The men were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before they were both taken to Royal North Shore hospital for further treatment.  

“I woke up and it was like people sounding like they were having a punch in,” a witness told 9News.

“It was quite scary, yeah, I just thought it was some people that had been to a party, but then it got really nasty,” said a neighbour.

Police located a bloody knife outside a nearby home on Somerset Avenue.

A 30-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has been taken to hospital where he remains under police guard.

Detectives have launched an investigation into the incident.
