Nigerian Rivers Hoopers Basketball Club and Cape Town Tigers from South Africa have already arrived in Rwanda for the Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2024.
From May 24 to June 1, there will be a basketball tournament at the BK Arena where eight top clubs in African basketball will compete.
Some teams have begun to arrive in Kigali, with Nigerian Rivers Hoopers and Cape Town Tigers (South Africa) already in the country.
Angola’s Petro de Luanda, US Monastir (Tunisia), Al Ahly SC (Egypt), Al Ahly Ly (Libya), FUS Rabat (Morocco), and AS Douanes (Senegal) are expected to arrive on Monday evening.
“The KingsMen have arrived in Kigali, Rwanda for the BAL Playoffs. Dakar was good, Kigali will be great!!,” Nigeria’s River Hoopers stated.
They will compete in a single-elimination playoffs and finals format, with the winner set to be crowned BAL champions.
This will be the first time the playoffs are held without a home team, as APR BBC did not qualify for the playoffs after finishing at the bottom of the Sahara Conference group phase.
