Kwibuka30: President Kagame and First Lady have lit the flame of remembrance

President Kagame Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame have lit the flame of remembrance and laid a wreath in honor of over 1 million victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi.

Today, on the 7th of April 2024, Rwanda and the rest of the world observe the 30th commemoration of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi.

This marks the beginning of the National Commemoration Week and the 100 days of commemoration activities under the theme “Remember, unite, renew.”

At the Kigali Genocide Memorial, President Paul Kagame and the Heads of State and Government, Former Heads of State, world leaders, and heads of international delegations who are in Rwanda for Kwibuka30 laid wreaths of honor for the victims of the Genocide Against the Tutsi.

At the Kigali Genocide Memorial, President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame have lit the flame of remembrance.

The flame will burn for the next 100 days during the 30th commemoration of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi.
