American singer Chris Brown was given an eight-month suspended prison sentence for one year by Southwark Crown Court in London, United Kingdom, on October 26, 2026. He admitted to hitting music producer Abraham Diaw on the head with a tequila bottle in February 2023.

The incident happened at Tape Nightclub in Mayfair, London. Security camera footage showed Brown hitting Diaw with a bottle, leaving him injured.

According to Reuters, Brown admitted to a crime called affray, which means taking part in a violent incident. As a result, other serious charges against him were dropped.

Omololu Akinlolu, also known as HoodyBaby, was also given a four-month suspended prison sentence for one year after admitting his role in the incident.

Judge Tony Baumgartner said that being famous or wealthy does not mean someone should receive special treatment under the law.
