Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is teaming up with technology journalist Kara Swisher to launch High Stakes, a new podcast examining key political issues and congressional races ahead of the November 2026 midterm elections.
Hillary Clinton is preparing to return to podcasting with a new limited-series programme focused on the political developments shaping the United States ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
The podcast, titled High Stakes, is scheduled to debut on Wednesday, October 14, with new episodes released weekly through mid-November. It will be distributed through the same podcast feed as Swisher’s existing programme, On With Kara Swisher.
The series will explore major political issues and congressional contests that could influence control of the US Congress during the second half of President Donald Trump’s second term.
Speaking to The New York Times, Clinton described the elections as particularly significant for the country and the wider world. She expressed concern about the current administration’s direction and called for changes in response to what she described as chaos, corruption and cruelty.
The partnership brings together two prominent public figures with backgrounds in politics and journalism. Clinton served as US secretary of state from 2009 to 2013 and was the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee in 2016. Swisher is widely known for her reporting on technology companies, Silicon Valley and the intersection of technology and politics.
The idea for High Stakes reportedly emerged after the pair had an extended conversation at a party earlier this year. Their discussions continued when Clinton appeared on Swisher’s Pivot podcast in August, filling in for co-host Scott Galloway.
Clinton previously hosted You and Me Both With Hillary Clinton, an interview podcast that ran for more than 50 episodes between 2020 and 2023. The new project initially has a limited schedule, although additional episodes could follow depending on its reception.
The 2026 midterm elections will determine all 435 seats in the US House of Representatives and a portion of the Senate, making control of Congress a central focus of the campaign period.
Through High Stakes, Clinton and Swisher aim to examine the issues, political figures and electoral contests expected to shape the national debate as Americans prepare to vote.
The podcast adds another high-profile media platform to the discussion surrounding the 2026 US midterm elections, bringing political experience and technology journalism together in a weekly conversation.
