Sydney experiences driest start of winter in 85 years

The city of Sydney in the State of New South Wales, Australia, had driest winter which was first experienced in 85 years ago.

For the first time in 85 years, the City of Sydney experienced its driest winter, according to National Meteorological Service of New South Wales.

The Bureau of Meteorology has reported that Sydney has recorded 22.2mm of rain since the start of July, similar to what happened in 1938, making it the third driest winter since records began in 1859.

In Sydney’s Climate records, July was considered a rainy month. By July 15 last year, the city had already received 362.4mm of rain. which is 16 times more than what has fallen this year.

According to forecast, no more rain is expected before 9:00 a.m. Saturday.

These experts say that this was due to the dominance of dry winds blowing from the West of the City, and the lack of fresh winds blowing from the East.
